Toiya Tillman is an award-winning creator of branded entertainment who has been producing for the past ten years. She’s interviewed some of the world’s leading experts for the national PBS television series Real Savvy Moms, focusing on social, cultural, and health issues. She has also produced commercial spots for top companies such as Johnson & Johnson, 3M, Nestle, and Martek. Best known for her intimate, narrative style of directing, Toiya has earned four Telly Awards to date.

Toiya began her career in the entertainment business working for Jermaine Dupri and So So Def Recordings. She began freelance writing as an entertainment columnist for national publications Rolling Out and Jezebel Magazine, and soon after moved into television and film, working on various series, movies, commercials, and music videos. In 2005, she began producing for Real Savvy Media, where as a Senior Segment Producer she traveled the country interviewing some of the world’s leading healthcare experts, including Dr. Sears (The Baby Book) and Ina May Gaskin, the world's most famous midwife.

Toiya specializes in creating and producing emotionally compelling, character-driven content, translating even the most complex issues into clear and concise high-impact stories.

She is currently writing and developing a number of projects for Area1’s film and television division, and continues to develop and produce television and online content for a corporate clientele.
